SLO Area Nets

ARES Weekly Check-in Nets

ARES and SLOECC conduct weekly check-in nets to test communications equipment, maintain contact with our local ARES member stations and to expand our Emergency Communications skills. The purpose of these nets is to gain experience handling message traffic and operating a Net. Team members should volunteer as a net control operator on a regular basis as this is a required skill. Regular participation in these nets is required for ARES team members, however, the nets are open to all local Amateurs and visitors. Non-ARES members who participate regularly may be added to the roll call list, but this should not be considered membership in ARES.
